Recent advances in the use of the Endoscope, which is applied in different parts of the body (knees, gall bladder etc). In cosmetic surgery it is possible to perform a brow lift through an Endoscope.

Advantages of Endoscopic vs. Conventional Brow Lift.

1. Scarring is far less.
The Endoscope is introduced through a small 1-2cm temporal incision on either side, plus two further incisions on either side of the middle line. (Old conventional method is a cornol incision extending from one ear to the other ear.

2. Undervision vs. Use of camera. You can visualise the nerves in the forehead, therefore, reducing the risk of injury, especially the temporal branch of the frontal nerves.

3. Reduce swelling and edema following surgery.

4. Reduce Pain.

Objectives of an Endoscopic Brow Lift:
1. To elevate a brow lying in a low position.
2. To lift or elevate the outer third of a brow.
3. To deal with cases that cannot be dealt with by Upper Blepharoplasty alone.
4. To deal with the frown lines and directly with the muscles of frowning, namely, corrugators etc.

Our links with several world-renowned hospitals and with senior specialists in Germany, Belgium, Norway, Sweden and America, ensure that our procedures and techniques are always the most advanced.

Variations of this Operation
Extended forehead lift. This procedure can be extended to the temporal and cheek area to improve the sagginess around the cheek region. Please discuss this with the Surgeon.

Feedback from patients
Patients who have had these procedures seem very pleased with the outcome. The long term result is unknown as the procedure is relatively new but improvements are being made all the time.

Endoscopic Forehead Lift (Brow Lift) - risks and complications

1. Numbness of the forehead – this can be permanent or temporary.

2. Asymmetry of the brows – this can be due to swelling or premature dissolving of the sutures. Discuss this with the surgeon who should be able to help.

3. Injury to temporal branch of frontal nerve. This can cause asymmetry of the brow and inability to move your brow, some of them will recover spontaneously after several months. However, other treatments can be considered, namely dealing with the other side to achieve symmetry. The risk of this is very low.
